A Wing And A Prayer – LIVE online launch event with artist Arabella Marshall.
Installed in the ruins of an ancient chapel on the grasslands of RSPB Minsmere, Suffolk, with Sizewell C power station in its background, is Arabella Marshall’s latest artwork. A Wing And A Prayer is a large, colourful contemporary glass “window” which glows like a jewel from the roofless, eroded walls of the chapel ruin and invites all kinds of interpretations relating to the celebration of, and impermanence of, life; our affinity and relationship with the natural environment, and how we have shaped the landscape of this area throughout history.
On Saturday 21st November at 5pm you can join an online event via Zoom, to watch a film about the installation, hear from the artist, and toast the launch of the project. To join the Zoom, register with Arabella via email by Friday 20th so that numbers can be accommodated.
The installation launches a two year project and public engagement programme which invites members of the public to respond to the site. The Rural Coffee Caravan are delighted to be collaborating with Arabella as part of the engagement programme, and though Covid-19 has delayed some of these activities, look out for more news and updates in the Spring of 2021.
