Tonight’s performance is Amadeus

Lucian Msamati stars in this National Theatre production of Peter Shaffer’s play.

Streaming for 7 days from 7pm on Thursday 16th July.

Set in Vienna, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. A rowdy young prodigy, arrives determined to make a splash.  Awestruck by his genius, composer Antonio Salleri has the power to promote his talent or destroy it.  Seized by obsessive jealousy he begins a war with Mozart, with music and, ultimately, with God.

Directed by Michael Longhurst (constellations, The World of Extreme Happiness), Lucian Msamati (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Master Harold and the boys) plays Salleri with live accompaniment by the Southbank Sinfonia.

Every Thursday at 7pm National Theatre At Home will stream a full length, much loved National Theatre live production free for seven days via their Youtube channel.
