The Royal Albert Hall will be streaming some exclusive Brassed Off content ahead of the film being broadcast on Film4 and will announce further details in due course. The planned Brassed Off Live event at the Hall was sadly cancelled to do coronavirus, but the Royal Albert Hall see no reason why the show still can’t go on in some way, and are delighted to include it as part of their Royal Albert Home series.

This 1996 bittersweet comedy drama, written and directed by Mark Herman, stars Pete Postlethwaite as Danny, the devoted leader of the Grimley Colliery Band, who is determined to show that ‘we are not defeated’. Ewan McGregor, Stephen Tompkinson and Tara Fitzgerald are stand-outs in an impressive ensemble cast.

The Royal Albert Home shows will all be streamable free of charge, but with the option to make a donation. The Royal Albert Hall will turn 150 years old in 2021 and are closed for the first time since World War Two due to the coronavirus pandemic, meaning that they have no regular income to support their staff or our Grade I-listed building.
