Over 9 million people in the UK say they are always or often lonely.

This winter, the Great Get Together wants to reduce loneliness and reduce stigma by building connection.

From DECEMBER 14TH to JANUARY 18TH The Great Get Together have planned a program of Winter events to help us face loneliness together, one connection at a time. To help continue to take forward Jo Cox’s vision of a less lonely, more connected world.

Featuring a different theme each week, they’re suggesting five ways people can connect, via a vibrant online celebration of community and connection which is sure to educate, inform and entertain!

Help out

Jan 11th – 17th

“Our communities need our support to help those who need it the most – particularly those who are elderly, shielding or otherwise vulnerable. Whether it’s an hour, evening or more that you can give, volunteering has a massive impact.”

Supported by the Royal Voluntary Service, the Great Get Together ‘Helping Others Toolkit’ offers ideas for ways to help out this winter. Head over to the Helping Others page to download the Toolkit .

Do share your participation in the Great Winter Get Together events on social media tagging The Great Get Together: FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
