It’s National Volunteers Week this week: 1st – 7th June 2020. A week in which the UK celebrates volunteers and says thank you to them for the contribution that they make.
We’d like to take this opportunity to celebrate and thank our own wonderful volunteers. They offer their time, enthusiasm and friendship supporting the Rural Coffee Caravan and we are so grateful to all of them for everything they do.
💚We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them! 💚
The event also raises awareness about the benefits of volunteering in the many, diverse roles available. As well as helping others, volunteering has a positive impact on the lives of those who volunteer, helping volunteers to gain new skills, to grow in confidence and volunteering can also improve mental health & boost self-esteem.
There are many voluntary organisations in the UK that rely on volunteers to help others – the Rural Coffee Caravan is one of them! We’re lucky to have such a wonderful team of volunteers who’ve helped us to tow caravans, make teas, baked cakes, helped set up events, offered pro bono services, and generally offered their friendship & chatty company on our previous visits. They really are the best, and their enthusiasm is unwavering!!
We’d love to hear from you, if you are interested in volunteering for us in the future please email us. Though the coronavirus pandemic has shifted the way we live our lives and altered the delivery of our Rural Coffee Caravan services temporarily, we will be needed more than ever as we move through and beyond the crisis, to help those who have struggled with these challenging, self isolating times to rebuild their confidence & connections.
