As part of the marking of The Rural Coffee Caravan’s 20th Anniversary, we produced a commemorative issue of our ‘Catch Up’ magazine, charting the charity’s 20 year progress and achievements from its origins through to the present day.
If you would like to learn about how The Rural Coffee Caravan started and read about a few of the key things we’ve been up to over the last twenty years, including feedback and kind words from those we’ve worked with and supported; if you’d like to see archive photos of the original Coffee Caravans and visits and also ‘Meet the team and Trustees’ of the charity, you can read a digital copy of the commemorative magazine here.
We’ve been enjoying watching some of the visitors to the Village Visits we’ve been going to over the years look for photos of themselves and their villages in copies of the magazine!
How did ‘Catch Up’ come to be?
In 2021, the RCC produced a colour magazine: The Rural Coffee Caravan ‘Catch Up’, initially funded by the Contain Outbreak Management Fund (COMF), to help provide non-digital members of the community with trusted information during the pandemic, support, signposting, a little cheer and connection.
We worked with many community partner organisations so that they could contribute content to the publication, and copies of it were distributed throughout Suffolk via contacts in the villages we visited, at outdoor village visits which were able to continue between lockdowns, and through our other networks: MeetUpMondays™, c-a-f-e and More Than A Shop.
The magazine was well received by its readers and funding from Suffolk Community Foundation enabled us to continue the magazine for a further year. All 12 issues are still available to read on our website, here, just scroll down the page.
